Leviticus 19: 33-34 states, "And if a stranger dwells with you in your land, you shall not mistreat him. The stranger among you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself for you were strangers in the land of Egypt."
The Sojourner's Ministry began with a request from farmworkers to learn to speak English, so they could read the Bible. The congregation embraced these workers in worship, provided Saturday evening pizza, a Thanksgiving meal, and supplied items for their living quarters and English classes.
Since that experience, Mt. Victory has been active in adopting-a-camp through the Fruitbelt Farmworkers Christian Ministry. The congregation visits the camp, supplies health kits, provides bedding, clothing, and cooking items.
Sojourner's is a ministry of hospitality and care for the workers who come to our area to harvest the fruit crops. If you would like to extend hospitality by making a donation, please contact June Showers at 717-486-3891. Feel free to leave a message with your name and phone number if June is not available, so she may return your call.
